We did it again! Another successful first birthday session! Oh it was so much fun watching this little guy. Not to mention I photographed him as a newborn. Oh he has changed so much. It is always an amazing feeling to see all the sweet babies come back to me for their Cake Smash Session.

We started the session as usual – with few family portraits. One day these portraits will be such a sweet memory for his parents.

I always encourage parents to jump in the photo. Even if you don’t feel like doing it now. One day you will be sooooo happy you have done it. This is also the perfect way to make your baby more comfortable with me. Some babies at this age are very aware of strangers around them, and may need extra TLC during the shoot. I completely understand and would do anything to make your little one happy.

That being said after the photos with both parents and family all together, it’s finally time to photograph just your baby. Before we jump to the Cake Smash part, I will photograph your baby sitting on the floor, or if he/she is comfortable we can take photos with some cute, minimalistic props. Now the part mostly anticipated ! Cake Smash, yaaay! Babies reactions are priceless when they see the cake in front of them. Some simply can’t believe. Some approach gently and others just dive right in. Here at Long Island Cake Smash Photography we have seen it all! No baby is the same, and no cake smash is the same. And in all honesty, your baby’s portraits should be as unique as your little one.
